The DiscFlightSim, version 1.03 and above is now much smaller to download and install. The reason is because the terrain files have been compressed.
As soon as you run the game for the first time, the terrains are un-compressed, with some color blending and height smoothing.
The compressed terrains will look great. You need not do anything more. You can still get the original full-resolution terrains over on the main terrain page. They are large (about 10MB) |

A compressed terrain will have the name: terrain_name_512.bin If you see the 512 in a terrain name, it is compressed. It becomes un-compressed when you press F1,F9. |

The Ibbenbueren course includes a terrain with the download. Just run the "Ibbenbueren_c_installer.exe" to put the course and terrain into your game folder. Then, press F1, F9 when you run the game. It only needs to be done once. The course and terrain were designed and submitted by Andreas from Germany. |
