How to contribute to this game... Submitting a new challenge You can build the terrain of your own local area, send it to the DFS team, and we will post it on the website for everyone to use. How the heck do I do that, you might ask. See this for a step-by-step description of how to built a real terrain. If that looks like fun to you, then you are on your way to seeing your local course in the game. Maybe you want to submit an idea for a new tree, or other object. Here's a screen-shot of a course created by one of our game players.
Here's a rendering of a tee-sign local disc golfer (Justin G) sent me. Done in Blender, rendered with my ray-tracer.
Jerry sent this sketch of a lighthouse, and now it's in the game.
Jerry's friend Karen sent some photos, now the game has a nice Buckeye tree.
Submitting a new challenge The 4 challenge sections of the game are self-contained in files. What this means is that new challenge packages can be posted and downloaded by game owners. But, we first have to have the new challenges to send out. That's where all of you come in. To create a new challenge, simply build a course and send it to the DFS team. We will use it in a challenge package. Also, tell us what the scoring goal is for your course. How to submit a hoop challenge. A hoop challenge is a course with only 1 hole. The hole must be aceable (must be possible to score an ace) Then you give us this information: 1. which disc you used (the 4 flight characteristics of the disc) 2. approximately where you aimed right/left 3. degree of tilt on the disc at release (hyzer/anhyzer) value of -5 through 5 4. the mph speed at release 5. how many hoops to fly through 6. the DFS team will add the hoops Only you will know the solution to make an ace. Other players will have to try to figure it out. I would like to see someone send in a set of 9 hoop challenges. Multiple shots can be used on the same hole. Tryin' to do what I can to keep you guys busy over the winter. Thanks! Home |
