Disc Flight Simulator

Design your own disc skins

note: This feature is available now!!!

You may download and install any of the following disc skins.
Just click on an image and install it.

When you install a skin file into your game folder, you can attach the image to a disc.
You can also design your own disc skins with the following specs:
1. Bitmap image format (.BMP)
2. exactly 128 x 128 pixels in size
3. 24-bit color format (not 256 colors)
4. Any free paint program will help you create images with these specs.
Disc skins require DFS version 1.06 and up, a free upgrade for all game owners.

You can attach up to 63 different skins to your discs. If you install some of the above skin files, you'll notice that the file names have a pattern.

The skin file names must have the following form:
skin(number).bmp

valid filenames:
skin.bmp
skin0.bmp
skin1.bmp
skin10.bmp
skin_11.bmp
skin62.bmp

invalid filenames:
xskin.bmp
skin63.bmp
skin1.jpg

Q. Why not just include all the textures in the game?

A. each disc texture added requires a little more video memory to be used by the game. Each game owner can try out some textures and see if the game performance is degraded to any degree. If not, then keep adding textures up to 62 discs. We also want each game owner to have the freedom to create and attach their own textures to each disc.

If you send us some original work, we will post it here for others to try.
